For years, I worked with incredibly talented business owners. They were experts in their fields, brilliant technicians, innovators, and salespeople. They had successfully built businesses that were profitable and growing, but I noticed a troubling pattern.

The more their businesses grew, the more complex they became. The owners, once passionate visionaries, were now consumed by day-to-day firefighting. They were drowning in operational details, team issues, and cash flow pressures. They had lost sight of the ‘why’ that inspired them to start in the first place.

This led to a fundamental question: How can I simplify growth? How do I help leaders focus on what truly matters?

The answer became the core philosophy: “Focusing on the Black.” It’s the disciplined art of identifying the vital few activities that deliver exponential results and ruthlessly eliminating the rest. When I started applying this simple, powerful framework with clients, the transformation was immediate. Overwhelm was replaced with clarity. Chaos was replaced with control. I didn’t get into business consulting to sit on the sidelines. I’m driven by the challenge of solving complex problems. After spending many years in accounting, I saw a gap between high-level strategy and practical, on-the-ground implementation.
